車手起步後到達的第一個彎原本叫作遊艇會彎，這是因為澳門遊艇會在那該處落多年的緣故。澳門遊艇會七十年代遷往路環，再於九十年代遷往青洲。時至今日，這個地方已成為澳門文華東方酒店的所在地，於是該彎亦改名為文華東方彎。

The first corner competitors encounter as the set off from the start/finish line was originally known as Yacht Club Bend after the Macau Yacht Club which stood there for many years. The Yacht Club was relocated to Coloane Island in the 1970’s, and again in the 1990’s to Green Island Harbour where it remains today. Today it is called Mandarin Oriental Bend after the hotel now on the site.
